To Lois Olmstead, finding an adventure isn't too
hard to do . . . just look from where you are standing.
An
introduction for Lois….
(Given by Pastor Walter
Frankenberry,
Former pastor of First Alliance Church, Billings, Montana)
“Lois grew up on a ranch in Montana and speaks at conferences and
retreats. She does a lot of things and she does them very well.
But she will tell you she cannot cook and she cannot sing! She
loves life, she loves people and she loves the Lord very dearly.
She has a very close relationship with Him. She knows the ups and
downs of life. And the ins and outs, bumps and bruises, burdens
and blessings. God has gifted her with a very unique ability to
express those various experiences of life as she shares them with
those around her. She speaks and writes about the grace of God in
her life and the joy of walking with Him. A very dear friend who
you will find to be your friend as well.”
Lois has been married 43 years to Robert
Olmstead. Robert and Lois recently moved to her folks’
ranch north of Livingston, Montana. They have 3 married sons
and 6 grandchildren.
Lois received the Montana
American Cancer Society Hugh B. Anderson Award for outstanding
courage and personal integrity while facing the challenge of
cancer. This award goes to one Montanan each year who helps and
educates others in the cancer battle.
Lois, an acclaimed humorist, has written four
books
Breast Cancer & Me,
Enjoying the Journey,
Denim & Lace (co-authored with
Phyllis Rowe) and
The Dude, the Ducks and Other Tales of
Country Living.
She hosted a daily radio talk show in Billings
on KURL Radio. She owned a gift shop and art gallery in Colstrip
called Apple Cider Alley.
Lois says she “has raised three sons, one husband and
24 ducks.”
